#Jedi code sith code collector code#
A corollary of the Code was "A Jedi does not act for personal power.”.A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for aggression or personal gain. The Jedi are the guardians of civilization, yet do not allow civilization to destroy needlessly. The Sith hated the Jedi and openly would spite them every chance they could in their quest to wipe out every single Jedi.Īs mentioned above- in Legends there were additions/variants/whatever to the Jedi Code, they were ….
Not a biased opinion but words from Darth Sidious himself when regarding why he kept a lightsaber when he was more powerful with the Force, he kept it as an insult to the Jedi, to not NEED their weapon/symbol but to use it regardless to defeat them with it. In this code you’ll notice how the concepts are similar to the Jedi, but a perversion of it, as most- if not all Sith tend to take what Jedi hold precious/dear and pervert it. Now, the Sith, being of the Dark Side, which was not as…selfless (the Jedi’s perspective of things) had a code of their own and it was more self serving than comfort seeking. Because as all Jedi are living breathing sentient beings, they are not only the Force, they are also feeling creatures that needed to not repress the natural parts of them in favor of a more detached monk like self. These concepts were not inherently bad, but they could (if not explored and debated/discussed/thought upon) be taken radically and too literally, which occasionally happened, resulting in Jedi who fanatically viewed the code as the only answer to anything facing the Order, which led to problems.
Once all of those are met, you’ll be able to achieve complete victory over yourself. Within passion, you’ll gain the ability and strength to overcome the power of your mind, body, and soul. Like this: Without passion, there is no purpose.
If you take the Sith Code and, construct it, use it as a guide in daily life, you’re not truly a bad guy. I’ve thought about those words a few times and wondered, if the Sith, aren’t the bad guys in the Star Wars Universe because we can look at any character as the bad guy, it’s how the script or story is written that defines how we see that character, not who they are. The Sith code is as follows: Peace is a lie there is only Passion. With Star Wars opening this weekend, I’ve been looking at the Sith code, because I would always consider myself Sith. Today, I had a discovery of such magnitude that I have to share it. Every so often we discover something hidden in plain sight that will get us through our lives.
